Intel (INTC), Nvidia (NVDA), & Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) skyrockets on new product launches

Nvidia (NVDA), Intel (INTC), & Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are both launching new products that will enhance computers around the world. Upon their launch it has sent their stocks skyrocketing on the advancement of technologies.

Intel unveiled a new line of laptop processors Wednesday, marking a significant advancement in the company’s efforts to manufacture a single semiconductor that can perform a range of functions sometimes spread across several chips.

The 11th generation processors integrate the CPU and graphics processing unit, which Intel (ticker: INTC) calls Iris Xe, into a single semiconductor designed for laptops—meaning they are more power efficient and include several types of processors to make a suite of computing functions available.

On the other hand, Nvidia is out with a new line of graphics cards that it claims are two times faster than the predecessors. The chips for the upcoming launch will be built by Samsung Electronics using its 8nm process as opposed to the first generation of Ampere cards. The first generation used Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) 7nm process.

Nvidia said its GeForce RTX 30 series uses faster third generation Tensor Cores and new streaming multiprocessors to boost visuals and AI acceleration for gaming. They feature an HDMI 2.1 that supports 4k high refresh rate and 8k gaming.

The top-end model RTX 3090 is priced at $1,499 whereas the base model is $499, and are expected to release later this month.

Since the ray tracing technology improves visual imagery during gameplay, the computing power requirements are much higher, which in turn reduces frame rate, as per Nvidia. The new RTX series addresses these issues faced by esports enthusiasts, gamers, and live streamers, the company said.

With AMD, they recently launched Radeon RX 5300 graphics processing unit (”GPU”), which is designed primarily to enhance video gaming experience. following the announcement of the launch, the stock closed at $90.82, up 6.2% on Aug 31.

The graphics card will support AAA, eSports and Virtual Reality (VR) titles, giving it the desired speed for optimal graphics solutions required for desktops.

The new GPU is powered by the latest 7 nanometer (nm) Radeon DNA (RDNA) architecture, which has low latency and higher bandwidth to render video games faster.

Moreover, Radeon RX 5300 supports DirectX12 Technology, AMD FreeSync Technology, and The Vulkan API for an improved soundscape for gaming along with better graphics.
